Police Blotter: Woman Arrested for Beating Man with Umbrella in Atlantic Center Mall

The Umbrella Beat Down

Police arrested a 35-year-old woman for beating a man with an umbrella while he was walking in the Atlantic Center Mall on June 8.

The victim, who lives on Hanson Place, told police that he was walking in the mall when a woman he never met starting beating him over the head with an umbrella at around 9:30 a.m. The violent assaulter also hit him in the eye with her elbows, causing swelling and cuts on his head and face. Police arrested the 35-year-old woman shorty after the assault.

Police arrested a man on Atlantic Avenue after he pushed his girlfriend to the ground while shopping at a grocery store and stole her cell phone on June 8.

The 23-year-old victim told police that she was shopping in Pathmark when her 30-year-old boyfriend came in and demanded his car keys. He then pushed her to the ground, stole her iPhone and ran out of the supermarket at 1:20 a.m. (it’s a 24-hour store). Police arrested the boyfriend on Portland and Atlantic.
