St. Marks Place Burglary

A burglar stole over $3,000 in Apple products from a St. Marks Place apartment on April 19.

The 34-year-old victim told police that she left her apartment, between Fourth and Fifth avenues, at around 1:40 p.m. to go for a walk. When she came back home at around 3:40 p.m., she found that someone had broken into her home by forcing the front door open. Once inside, the burglar stole a white iPad and two Apple MacBook Pro laptops. No surveillance cameras on building and no other residents in the building were home.

Law Office Lock Up

Police arrested a 44-year-old man for stealing a woman’s wallet while inside a Fourth Avenue law office on April 18.

The 53-year-old victim told police that she was inside a lawyer’s office waiting room between 12th and 13th streets, when at around 3 p.m. the 44-year-old black man went through her backpack and stole her wallet. When she approached him and asked if he took it, he concealed the wallet inside his jacket and said, “I didn’t take your money” and tried to flee. When the victim tried to stop him from leaving, the crook punched her in the face. He was later arrested and identified in a line up. The crook returned the woman’s wallet at the time of arrest.
