National Night Out a Huge Hit With Community

Residents and NYPD officers came together Tuesday evening in Grand Army Plaza to celebrate National Night Out.

Citizens young and old, volunteers from various organizations, elected officials and members of the New York Police Department came together Tuesday evening in Grand Army Plaza to celebrate National Night Out.

"All around you tonight, you have great working officers of the 78th," said Pauline Blake, president of the 78th Precinct Community Council. "Tonight is a great celebration, lets celebrate, let's hear it for Brooklyn!"

Deputy Inspector Michael Ameri, the commanding officer of the 78th Precinct, thanked the community saying, "None of the success we have .. Could be done without the community."

The festivities began at 6 p.m., with music, games, carnival-type treats and more to keep all entertained.
