The New York City Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating a woman wanted in connected with an iPhone theft on the G train at the Fourth Ave-Ninth St subway station April 28.

The thief, described by police as a black woman standing between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8, snatched a woman’s iPhone out of her hands while on a G train right as it pulled into Fourth Ave-Ninth St and ran on to the platform and out of the station at 8 p.m.

The victim, a 26-year-old Park Slope resident, told Patch a few days after the theft that the crook boarded the train with her at the 15th St-Prospect Park station a few minutes before with another woman.

As the victim sat down in the second-to-last car, she pulled out her iPhone and started playing a game. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw two black women wearing green baseball hats looking at the subway map and talking about how they need to transfer to the R train at Fourth Ave.-Ninth Street.

According to the victim, as the train pulled into the Gowanus station she saw a hand come into her field of vision and snatch her iPhone from her hands. The two crooks then ran off the train and she ran after them.
