Burglar Steals Laptop, iPhone, Gold and Diamond Jewelry

Also taken were a pearl necklace and a Middle Eastern-style silver necklace, worth a total of $4,775.

Second Floor Window Burglary

A burglar broke into a 12th Street apartment and stole almost $5,000 in electronics and jewelry June 25.

The 34-year-old victim told police that she was at work while her mother and father-in-law took her newborn baby for a walk at 10:30 a.m., leaving their apartment on 12th Street, between Third and Fourth avenues, locked. When the grandparents returned home, they saw that the screen from the baby’s bedroom window fell from the second floor to the ground. Once inside, they found that a burglar looted the apartment for a bounty of electronics and jewelry. The burglar stole an Apple MacBook Pro, a Sony stereo, an iPhone, a gold necklace with diamonds and rubies, a pearl necklace and a Middle Eastern-style silver necklace, worth a total of $4,775. Neighbors told police that they did not hear or see anything unusual or suspicious.

A Third Purse Snatch

A thief stole a woman’s purse at a Fifth Avenue bar and got away with four credit cards and her cellphone on June 29. 

The 33-year-old victim told police that she was at hanging out at Skylark Bar, on the corner of 11th Street, when she placed her bag on the ground next to her chair at 2 a.m. When she went to pick it up at 2:45 a.m., it was gone. The crook got away with the woman’s Brooklyn Industries grey purse, US passport, four credit cards, a book, three sets of keys, a California driver’s license and LG Android cellphone.
