OSEKRE AND OTHER TOP BROOKLYN BANDS AND COMEDIANS TO PERFORM EMERGENCY BENEFIT TO "SAVE THE BROOKLYN ANIMAL FOSTER NETWORK"

http://www.littlefieldnyc.com/

Osekre and the Lucky Bastards takes Afrobeat, indie, punk, ska, and rockabilly, throws them in a blender and the glorious mess that comes out is their latest track "Why Are You Here?".

"If the Clash were from the Islands, they would sound like Osekre and his band" - Yours Truly

This Benefit will feature live music from Osekre's friends who number among some of the top bands in Brooklyn. Comedians, poets and artists will also be there to perform for the homeless animals of the borough.

Expect great raffles and surprises.

This will be a memorable event packed full of great music and comedy and an even more exciting atmosphere! A suggested donation is $10 per person. The full proceeds go to the Network's mission to rescue abandoned and abused cats and dogs, promote responsible pet ownership, and advocate for animal welfare.

Brooklyn Animal Foster Network (BAFN) is suffering the double whammy of decreased donations and increased need, as more people give up pets they can no longer afford to keep. The long-standing BAFN with a network of more than 900 foster homes in Brooklyn has had to scale back their work and is still struggling to stay afloat, their operators say. BAFN, a nonprofit outfit that has rescued more than 2,500 abandoned and stray dogs and cats since 2005, has reduced the number of animals it takes in because it can't afford to maintain them.

Its budget has dropped by about 70% since the recession.

Sorry no dogs.
