Punderdome®, NYC’s Most Puntastic Competition

PUNDERDOME® is a wild & crazy monthly frequently sold-out SRO pun competition hosted by a self-proclaimed “Rodney Dangerfield impersonator” and his alleged daughter (Fred and Jo Firestone). The first 18 individuals/duos to sign-up at the door will have a chance to participate in competitive spontaneous pun-making. Pun-masters are determined by the “human clap-o-meter” who “accurately and scientifically” assesses levels of audience applause.  Great big kitchen appliance mystery prizes are awarded to the top two competitors. Warning for the faint of heart: the ’Dome is a spectator sport – decide to attend at your own risk! Catch some recent action: The Brooklyn Ink (2/27/13)! Or, check out our pilot for the 2012 New York Television Festival – we were fortunate to have been selected as finalist in the unscripted comedy category!

Celebrity Judge will be John Pollack, author of the critically acclaimed, The Puns Also Rises!

· “The lowly pun has long been considered the bottom-feeding bristle worm of the comedy world…. That has changed with the arrival of Punderdome 3000, a now monthly event that has turned punning into a high-functioning competition that is equal parts stand-up, beat poetry and, as one audience member described it, ‘freestyle rap for white people.’” The New York Post

· “The Punderdome was a delightful experience that deserves the cult following it’s achieved. With its charismatic host and fierce competitors, Punderdome proves that the pun is an art form that’s here to stay.” Inside New York

· “The beloved Brooklyn pun competition” The New York Times
