Donofrio Dance Company Calls on Arts Community for Support on Project

Park Slope based dance company

Donofrio Dance Company is working on its first ever collaborative piece and evening-length work entitled 'Ram'. They have the date, the work and the location, but have called on the artist's community for support with certain costs.

The work is composed by Ryan Campos and Ace Salisbury has helped in creating short films to be projected through out the piece. They will be using the new technology of pico projectors, a mobile projector, that will be attached to each dancer, projecting their inner memories.

Costs include compensation for five professional dancers, the composer and filmmaker, as well as the rent for the performance space, studio space for rehearsals leading up to the performance and the five Pico Projectors.

The dance company, which was created in 2009, has begun a Kickstarter campaign, and with 14 days remaining, $3,075 of their $7,000 goal has been donated. There are also rewards for those who pledge certain amounts.

Show dates are set for Oct. 18t and 19 at 7:30p.m. at CPR (Center for Performance Research), 361 Manhattan Avenue in Brooklyn.
