Methodist Reveals Revised Plans; Residents Still Have Concerns

Questions still surround revised expansion.

New York Methodist Hospital revealed revised plans for its expansion after residents and even local pols voiced concerns.

The revised plans remove a driveway on Fifth Street that was planned for patient pickup, and move the highest point of the building to Sixth Street rather than Eighth Avenue.

Despite the changes, the plans still include the removal of many historic brownstones. Traffic concerns also exist.

Renderings of the expansion were recently published on The New York Daily NewsCheck the images below for the new rendering and the current look.

The community group, Preserve Park Slope, has led the charge in questioning the expansion. The group held a forum earlier in September, and recently outlined the new plan. According to Methodist officials, they are still open to feedback and these plans are not final.

What do you think? Should the expansion still be scaled down? Let us know in the comments section below.
