My husband Jimmy and I were members PSFC since mid '90s, now we are living in Italy since 2003.. WeRead More remember very well Alexis as a wonderful warm great person always understanding any situation with always the best answer and solutions for any problem! We are truly saddened and will send our prayers (Nam MyoHo Renge Kyo) for Alexis and his family. Alexis is a real example of Bodhisattva and Buddha's behavior as great human being we will carry in our hearts from any distance <3

My husband and I were members from 1996 to 2003. Alexis was our supervisor at the god-awful 6:00 amRead More shift. After dragging ourselves out of bed to (try to) make it there, Alexis was the first person we saw, the knowing smile and twinkle in his eye made us know it was all right we were a bit late, as long as we stayed later to make up for it. I used to look forward to the fun times we had on that shift because before the coop expanded into the big building, we were all in this little space preparing for the day-it was like a little club. Alexis would bring CDs and play the best music over the coop loudspeaker, and we would chat about music and current events, making the shift so much fun. He had such a positive attitude and great sense of humor. I was truly saddened to hear about his passing. What a loss to the world.

I'm also so sad - and shocked. I was donating items to the coop last night and almost couldn'tRead More believe my eyes when I saw the notice about Alexis. He was my favorite person who worked there and a reason to do a 6 a.m. FTOP shift (and probably the ONLY reason), he was just a good person, Alexis you will be missed.

Hey, Jim--We all speak from our own experience, and maybe I haven't lived in as many differentRead More cities as you have. But I have lived in more than a few, and I honestly had never heard anyone refer to their city--regardless of how famous it might be--- as "The City", as if it were the ONLY one--until I moved to New York. But the point is really not worth this debate. Have a super sparkly day.

If you run for a political office you are full of yourself. Not always a bad thing just how itRead More goes. Jim, those other cities you refer to their city as "the city" may be correct all small letters. Most people in the world would agree NYC is THE CITY.

I met Everett and Evelyn back in 1973 when I was a young teaching assistant in West VirginiaRead More (Morgantown) I loved both of them so much and I am very sad to have lost such precious friends. I never failed to visit them in Brooklyn every time I went to New York. Jean-Michel (& Françoise) Petit Normandy France
