<p>This life-skills and care center is dedicated to helping people with developmental disabilities live meaningful lives, participate in their surrounding community, and be as independent as possible. They can help people with a wide range of neurological impairments. They offer basic skills classes, residential programs/in-home respite care, and other activities at their location near Prospect Park.</p>
<p>Founded in 1862 by the Sisters of Mercy, the center is built on the belief in the right to a life of dignity, love, and learning, for all people. Mercy Home works well with autistic and other developmentally challenged children, helping them participate in music, games, and other activities, and they have programs for teens and adults with similar conditions as well. They provide free art, music, and dance therapy, and they also have recreational/fitness activities, and a band that is guided by experienced musicians. There is a wide range of services available for those in need. It is a (501)(c)3, non-profit organization as well.</p> <p>Note that this location is that of the administrative offices. They have 15 other locations for care and offices.</p>
