Belleville is Parisian retro-chic bistro that has been with Park Slope for over 5 years. At one end of the bistro is dining and a bar. At the opposite end of the kitchen is a lounge used for private parties and lounge acts every Wednesday through Friday. Belleville uses produce delivered fresh daily from small farms that support sustainable agriculture and use organic foods when possible. Hormone- and antibiotic-free meats and poultry, and wild seafood are used to produce all dishes. A great, dependable bistro. I've always liked this place, but since I had kids, it has shot to the top of my list of places to eat with kids but feel like a grown-up. Families don't dominate the clientele, but there is a kids menu with real food on it and the staff do lots of little things (providing crayons, serving kids quickly, rinsing pacifiers when they fall to the floor) that make the experience enjoyable both for parents and (by keeping kids happy) for the non-parents at surrounding tables.
