NYC Beaches Open for the Summer Saturday!

This article was written by Amy Sara Clark.

True it's supposed to rain, but it's still good to know that all NYC beaches officially open tomorrow, Saturday, May 25.

The city's Parks Department has 14 miles of beach, including Brighton Beach and Coney Island, and they will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Labor Day weekend.

For straphangers on the Q/B line, Brighton can be reached in about 20 minutes by subway. While you're there, make sure to pick up some cheap fruit and try one of the many Russian cuisine restaurants.

It's also an easy bike ride, nearly all of the ride is in Prospect Park or protected bike lanes. You'll also ride along the oldest bike lane in the world on Ocean Parkway. See the easy bike lane directions here
