- Join the conversation with Brooklyn for Peace, an organization working for peace and social justice through education at Brooklyn Museum Jan. 10 at 2 p.m.

Sing-Along with Miss Nina at powerHouse on 8th Jan. 10 at 4 p.m.

- Prospect Range at 1226 Prospect Ave. is kicking off the new year with the first Brooklyn Music Shop Concert of 2014 Jan. 10 at 8 p.m. featuring Miles to Dayton and Michael Mazzola.

Dancewave Spring Open House (45 4th Ave.) hosts free trial classes for all ages Jan. 11 at 10:30 a.m.

- Executive Director of the Tim Hetherington Trust, film co-director Junger, platoon member Sergeant Brendan O’Byrne and photojournalist Michael Kamber reflect on the significance of the film 'Restrepo' in the years since its 2010 release, as well as the lasting impact of the work of photographer and director Tim Hetherington, who was killed while covering the 2011 conflict in Libya at the Brooklyn Museum Jan. 11 at 2 p.m.

- Manage your pain with a Melt and Restore Workshop at Plaza Wellness, 36 Plaza Street East at Grand Army Plaza Jan. 11 at 6 p.m.

- Celebrate the community with Mil's Trills as they gear up for their debut album release, 'Everyone Together Now!'. Mil's Trills 4th Annual Winter Bash presented by Hip Tot Fest takes place Jan. 12. Doors open 11 a.m. at Shapeshifter Lab, 18 Whitwell Place. 

Concerts on the Slope at St. John's Episcopal Church, 139 St. John's Place continues Jan. 12 at 3 p.m. with 'Impressions'.
