Flooding Forecast As Rain Drenches New York

Approximately 80 percent of normal monthly rainfall for April is expected to hit the city in two days.

Brace yourselves, New Yorkers. We're not in the clear yet when it comes to nasty weather.

Rain is scheduled to soak the city this afternoon, but the real downpour will begin Wednesday and carry on into Thursday, with 3.5 inches expected.

That's 2.8 inches more rain in two days that fell the entire month, forecasters told DNAInfo.

This is the same storm sending deadly tornadoes throughout the South.

Residents are advised to take caution as there will be a flood warning in place from 2 p.m. Wednesday to noon Thursday.

“We could see about 80 percent of our normal monthly rainfall in about 20 hours,” a spokesman for the National Weather Service said.
