“I was trying to think of someone with enough presence to compete with the amazing view of Manhattan and the bridge, Valdez said, “and I thought who would be better than Patti Smith?”

Patti Smith will read tonight, Monday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

After Patti Smith’s reading and interview, she will stick around to sign books.
