Still have no idea what to do this weekend? We’ve got you covered. Here are your best bets for a good time come five o’clock Friday:

Why Go: Come to Freddy’s soundproofed back room and listen to some great music. "Freddy's hosts some of the city's most original readings and performances," The Village Voice wrote.

Where/When: , 228 Flatbush Ave, Friday, Aug. 17 at 9 p.m.

Why Go: Led by Wil Edwards, editor of Food Society Journal, and FSJ Social Director, the event is meant to “enlighten and inform” guests about the many facets of cheese and its pairings. This week’s series, “Chewing the Fat,” is an evening of pure decadence pairing charcuterie and cheese. Our cheese and charcuterie selections will reveal how the centuries–old preservation methods of milk and meat can be beautifully balanced with sweetness and salinity.

Where/When: , Eastern Pkwy & Flatbush Ave, Saturday, Sept. 1 at 10 p.m.

Why Go: This guided tour of the historic house will not only show you unique architectural designs but also significant artifacts from 19th century family life and a fully furnished bedroom from the 1820s.

Where/When: , 200 Eastern Pkwy, Saturday, Sept. 1 at 5 p.m.

Why Go: On the first Saturday of each month the Brooklyn Museum hosts this free and popular event that promises free music and entertainment.  

Cost: Free!

Where/When: Monte's, 451 Carroll St, Sunday, Sept. 2 at 6 p.m.

Why Go: Monte’s, the famous Italian restaurant, is an old haunt of the Rat Back—limousines would block Carroll between Third Ave and Nevins St as the coolest of cool came to grab a bite—and now it has live jazz every Sunday.
