Yogaeira is a fusion of Vinyasa yoga and the Brazilian martial art/dance known as Capoeira.

The practice consists of capoeira technique and conditioning set within a vinyasa yoga flow. Workshops also incorporate partner work, pranayama, meditation, call and response chanting, and body work. It is physically demanding, but open to all levels, all people, all practices, all who have a curiosity and passion for seeking growth thorough community, empowerment, play, and discipline.

The practice of Yogaeira is set in a circle (roda) and moves you through organic movements, such as waving of the spine and moving around the mat 360 degrees, staying low to ground and finding one’s own “mandinga,” or natural expression/instinct within the flow. Yogaeira is a balance between discipline and play and requires a deep focus while also staying in tune with your inner fluidity and instinctual calling of movement. Students have the opportunity to cultivate deep core and an inner sense of lightness. Headstands, handstands, & arm balances are offered in every class. Everything is simply an invitation to explore. Each student should come with an open mind and acknowledge themselves as their own master in which they know their bodies best.
