Transforming Our Past: Practicing Forgiveness in the New Year

Typically the New Year is a time to contemplate change. We think about what the New Year will bring, and how to improve our lives and the lives of those around us. Often we let ourselves be held back by our perception of past experiences--especially with regard to people and circumstances we feel wounded by and cannot let go of. If we see our past as fixed, then certain things in our present and future also remain unchangeable.

Through practicing forgiveness, meditating on the kindness of others, understanding the law of karma, and increasing our mind of love we can be free from the baggage of past hurts and fulfill extraordinary wishes in the New Year.
