Activists like Eddie Ellis of the Center for NuLeadership on Urban Solutions in Brooklyn are trying to turn around a prison and policing system that dehumanizes people, particularly communities of color.

Ellis, the Charley Horwitz Memorial Platform speaker, gives hope and provides a lifeline to young people in NuLeadership youth programs and to incarcerated people through "On the Count," his weekly radio program on Pacifica WBAI produced with former prisoners.
