Big Ticket Items For Sale at the PS 321 Auction

This year the auction has hit the Internet, offering up some pretty swanky buys.

There are only three days left to bid in the annual PS 321 auction, but there are still some pretty incredible items to be won.

This year was the debut of the annual fundraiser’s online auction site – boasting many an item perhaps more worthy of the Upper East Side, from a $15,000 mink coat to a $10,000 Birkin bag.  One parent is even auctioning off a month at her Connecticut beach house.

The annual auction represents about a fifth of the PTA’s yearly budget and this year the school is hoping the proceeds might be enough to pay for two arts teachers for the school, which has been increasingly affected by budget cuts. PTA members are hoping that by opening up the auction to the public – and going online – they’ll raise even more money than the fundraiser usually does.

“The auction is our biggest single fundraiser of the year. We decided to take it online to be able to open it up to a larger audience,” said Sloper and PTA Co-president Lucy Rorech. “The idea is that we’ve got everything from a $10 gift certificate to designer goods.”

For those not looking to fill their New York apartment-sized closets with more stuff, there are also some cool experiences on the block, like breakfast with an Oscar winning director and backstage passes to a taping of Boardwalk Empire.
