Second Participatory Budgeting Neighborhood Assembly Tonight

Come to Greenwood Baptist Church, 461 Sixth Street (at Seventh Avenue) at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday to vote on how to use $1 million of City funds neighborhood projects.

Tonight, Councilman Brad Lander will ask Park Slope residents, “What would you do with $1 Million?”

Don’t miss this opportunity to partake in democracy through Participatory Budgeting.

Tonight, Wed., Oct. 3, residents will come together to tell Councilman Lander (D-Park Slope) how to spend another $1 million of City funds on projects in their neighborhood. Last year, residents came together, brainstormed, voted and now those projects are being started.

Next spring, the votes will be counted and the winning projects will be announced. The process, called “Participatory Budgeting,” has allowed New Yorkers their first opportunity to vote on how some of their tax dollars are spent.

Come tonight, Wednesday, October 3, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. to Greenwood Baptist Church, 461 Sixth Street (at Seventh Avenue).
