Do you often find yourself gazing at the Brooklyn Bridge thinking, "Man, that color is just perfect for my living room?"
Chances are, you haven't. But, the New York's Department of Citywide Administrative Services is auctioning off 500 gallons of the bridge's signature "chocolate brown semi-gloss enamel," with bids starting at just $5 a gallon.
According to The New York Times, the paint was purchased a decade ago for touch-ups to the steel superstructure, before the city decided a more durable paint would be preferable.
The city is also auctioning off several other paint colors (Pulaski red would look fabulous in your kitchen, don't you think?), as well as more obscure items:
Can we interest you in a metal safe? How about 18 pallets of toothbrushes?
