Park Slope Fall Civic Sweep

Make a clean sweep of your home and neighborhood by joining this annual autumn beautification, clean-up and recycling event!  Put on your old clothes and join other volunteers in mulching trees, picking up litter and weeding Seventh Avenue’s tree pits.  

Bring the following electronic equipment for recycling by the Lower East Side Ecology Center: working & non-working computers, monitors, printers, scanners, keyboards, mice, cables, TV’s, VCR’s, DVD players, phones, audio/visual equipment, cell phones & PDA’s.

Pick up free daffodil bulbs and a limited supply of free Block Clean-Up Kits on a first-come, first-served basis to Park Slope block associations who want to keep their blocks litter- and graffiti-free year around.  Kits will consist of grip & grab tools for litter pick up, trash bags, paint for painting graffiti off lampposts, scraper for scraping signs off lampposts, paintbrushes, latex gloves, paint can opener, and stir sticks.

Promote bicycle safety by purchasing bicycle light sets offered by Transportation Alternatives for $5.

Refreshments will be served, and bluegrass music will be performed by Vincent Cross and Good Company, All tools and supplies will be provided.  Volunteers will leave wearing “I Made Park Slope Cleaner Today” stickers.  

Community Service vouchers will also be available.  This event is free and open to all.
