Now six-term Kings County D.A. Charles J. Hynes, who’s up for reelection, will get that chance too!

Hynes will be one of the stars of the six-part CBS reality series “Brooklyn D.A., ” which documents the personal and professional lives of “eccentric prosecutors" from Brooklyn who live “right on the edge," reported The Daily News.

In a release issued Tuesday, CBS said the show “follows ... hard-charging prosecutors (with) larger-than-life personalities both inside the courtroom and out.”

The series will begin airing on CBS on May 21, smack-dab in the middle of Hynes’s reelection campaign.

To say that Kenneth Thompson and Abe George -- the two opponents challenging Hynes in this year’s race for D.A.-- were not happy to hear about the lead prosecutor's starring role in a reality show, would be an understatement:

“Charles Hynes doesn’t want to be D.A. He just wants to play one on TV,” said George, a former Manhattan prosecutor.

Thompson, a former federal prosecutor, said if Hynes “spent less time worrying about getting on TV and more about his job, Brooklyn wouldn’t have the lowest felony conviction rate in the city.”
