Police Hunting for Suspected Rapist in Brooklyn

Man follows women to their Brooklyn College-area homes, attacks them and flees, according to cops.

Police are looking for a man who raped two women and sexually assaulted a third.

The most recent incident happened last Friday at an apartment building near the intersection of Bedford and Flatbush avenues, police said.

The man was waiting in the lobby of the building when a 36-year-old woman arrived home just before 2 a.m. The man followed the woman into the elevator, got off with her and forced himself into her apartment when she opened the door, according to the NYPD.

Inside, he "severely beat her" in the face and then raped her. Afterward, he fled through the bedroom window and down the fire escape, according to the NYPD.

Police believe the same man is responsible for an assault on May 2, also near the intersection of Bedford and Flatbush avenues. At about 2 a.m. the man followed a 32-year-old woman home, forced his way into her apartment as she was letting herself in, choked her and raped her. He then stole cash from her as well as her passport and cell phone and fled, according to the NYPD.

Two years earlier a third incident happened near the intersection of Flatbush and Bedford. On April 13, 2008, just before 9 p.m., the man was in the elevator of a 28-year-old woman's apartment building when she got in. He followed her off the elevator, pushed his way into her apartment, choked her. Then he "forcibly groped her over her clothing," and fled, according to the NYPD.

In all three cases, the women described the men as black, in his late 20s, between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a medium build, medium to dark skin tone and short black hair, according to the NYPD
