Police Blotter: Van Filled with $6,000 in Tools Stolen from 15th Street

A construction worker's van was snatched from its parking spot between 7th and 8th avenues.

Van Filled with $6,000 in Tools Stolen from 15th Street

A crook stole a van parked on 15th Street and got away with almost $6,000 in tools May 10.  

The 64-year-old victim told police that he parked his white Chevrolet van between Seventh and Eighth avenues and went into the construction site down the street at 2 p.m. When he returned to his vehicle to leave for the day, it was gone. There was no broken glass in the parking spot and cops said it was not towed. The crook stole the van and got away with over $6,000 worth of belongings, including an EZ Pass, 10 power tools and tools for electrical work.

Car Stolen from 10th Street  

A car thief boosted a Honda from its parking spot on 10th Street sometime between May 7 and 8.  

The 57-year-old victim told police that he parked his gray 1998 Honda Accord on 10th Street, between Seventh and Eighth avenues, May 7 at 9:30 p.m. When he returned to get his car the next day at 5:50 a.m., it was gone. Police said that it was not towed and neighbors said that they did not hear or see anything.
