Police Blotter: Two Crooks Steal Man’s iPhone and Punch him in the Face on F Train

F Train iPhone Snatch

Two men stole a man’s iPhone while he was riding an F train at Fourth Avenue-Ninth Street subway station on May 25.

The 34-year-old victim told police that the first man, who was in his 20s, wearing blue jeans and a baseball hat, snatched his iPhone out of his hands as the doors of a southbound F train opened at Fourth Ave.-Ninth St. at around 2:05 p.m. Then, the second man, also about 20 years old, wearing blue jeans and a baseball hat, punched him in the face. The victim fell, suffered a cut on his forehead and was transported to Lutheran Hospital conscious and alert.

A crook stole a woman’s credit card, cell phone and cash from a locker in on Seventh Avenue on May 25.

The 54-year-old victim told cops that she went to work at the hospital, between Sixth and Seventh streets, and locked her belongings inside her locker at around 1:20 p.m. When she returned to her locker at around 2:50 p.m., she found that the lock was broken and the crook made off with her cell phone, $50 in cash, a Metrocard and three credit cards. Afterwards, the crook used one of her credit cards at a store.

B-Ball Gone Bad

A thief snatched a man’s hat, which had his cell phone, wallet and glasses inside, while he was playing basketball on a Fifth Street court on May 22.

The 20-year-old victim told police that he put his iPhone, glasses, keys and wallet in his hat and put it on the ground while playing basketball on the outdoor courts behind between Fourth and Fifth avenues at around 6 p.m. When he went to get his hat and belongings 13 minutes later, everything was gone.
