Police Blotter: Thief Steals Sunday School Teacher’s Wallet from St. Saviour’s

A crook stole a Sunday school teacher’s purse from St. Saviour Elementary School on Eighth Avenue and got away with a total of over $200 in cash, a $400 designer wallet and credit cards on April 7.

The 50-year-old victim, who is a Sunday school teacher at St. Saviour’s on the corner of Seventh Street, told police that while she was teaching Sunday school an unknown crook opened her purse and removed $654 worth of property between 11 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. The victim told police that she left her purse in the library while she was teaching. The crook got away with the teacher’s Prada wallet worth $400, a debit card, driver’s license, six credit cards, and $254 in cash.

Mac Repair Store Burglarized

Police arrested a 49-year-old burglar for breaking into a Fifth Avenue Apple products repair store and stealing two laptops on April 6.

A 28-year-old employee of Dr. Brendan Mac Repair store on Fifth Avenue, between Lincoln and Berkeley places, told police that when he arrived to work he found that the front door lock was broken and two Apple laptops and chargers were missing. The burglar was caught on surveillance video inside the repair shop wearing a black watch cap, eyeglasses, and gloves and was later identified as a known criminal who is a 49-year-old white male. The crook broke the storefront’s lock, entered and stole an Apple MacBook Pro, MacBook and two chargers worth $2,080 and then fled through the front door. Cops arrested him that same day.
