Police Blotter: Thief Steals Car Left Running on Fifth Avenue

A crook boosted a Lincoln Aviator from between Fifth and Sixth streets.

Left It Running….

A crook boosted a car while it was left running on Fifth Avenue during the early morning hours of June 9.

The victim told police that he parked his white Lincoln Aviator between Fifth and Sixth streets and went inside Ginger’s Bar at 2 a.m. When he returned to his car, he hopped in, put the keys in the ignition and left it running to warm up. He then walked down to Joe’s Pizza one street down to sit and eat at 3:35 a.m. When he returned to get his car a little while later, it was gone. The crook also got away with the victim’s GPS.

 A thief opened a bank account under a Fifth Avenue resident’s name and withdrew almost $4,000 on June 2.

The 25-year-old victim told cops that her bank called her at noon and notified her that someone had used her personal information to open an account and withdraw $3,900 from her existing one.
