Chanel Bag and Jewelry Snatched on Bus
A quick-handed crook snatched a woman’s designer purse and got away with almost $4,000 in jewelry while she was riding an MTA bus on Ninth Street Feb. 5.
The 39-year-old victim told police that she was riding the B61 bus at around 8 p.m. and had her black leather Chanel purse inside a bag. When she got off the bus at Fourth Avenue and Ninth Street five minutes later, she realized it was gone. The crook got away the Chanel bag, worth $1,100 alone, a platinum and diamond ring, a pair of platinum and diamond earrings, credit cards, and ID’s, which were worth a whopping total of $3,900.
Purse Snatch at The Pavilion
A crook snatched a woman’s purse from a seat in a Prospect Park West movie theater March 3.
The 35-year-old victim told police that she went to see a movie at The Pavilion, between 14th and 15th streets, and put her purse on the seat next to her. When the movie ended at around 7:50 p.m., she walked out of the theater and left her bag behind. When she returned 15 minutes later, her purse was gone. The crook got away with the victim’s social security card, ID, pocketbook, bankcard, and $80 in cash.
