Police Blotter: Thief Steals $1,500 Bike From 12th Street

Another Bike Bandit

A crook snatched a high-end bicycle, worth $1,500, parked on the sidewalk in front of an apartment building on 12th Street March 25.

The 37-year-old victim told police that she parked her Cannondale in front of her building, between Seventh and Eighth avenues, at around 7:30 p.m. and left it unlocked to bring something upstairs. When she returned ten minutes later, her $1,500 bike was gone. 

Moped Boosted

A crook stole a vintage moped from its parking spot on Degraw Street sometime between March 23 and 25.

The 32-year-old victim told police that he parked his yellow 1970 Honda moped on the northeast corner of Degraw Street and Third Avenue March 23 at 8 p.m. When he returned March 25 at 10 a.m., it was gone. Police said it was not towed.
