Police Blotter: Thief Snatches Laptop From Flatbush Ave. Restaurant

Laptop Snatched from Restaurant on Flatbush and Carlton Aves

A thief snatched a laptop from am employee at a Carlton Avenue restaurant on Sept. 27.

The 28-year-old victim told police that her Apple MacBook was sitting on the counter while she was working at Carlton Park, on the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Park Place, when at around 8:55 p.m., a crook snatched it and ran in an unknown direction. The victim told cops that the thief was a black man, about 25 years old, 5-foot-10, 140 lbs. with a ponytail. He was also wearing a blue baseball hat and a blue hoodie with tan-colored pants.

Car Boosted from 12th Street 

A thief boosted a car from its parking spot on 12th Street on Sept. 28.

The 35-year-old victim told police that he parked his black Mitsubishi between Eighth Avenue and Prospect Park West at around 1:30 p.m. When he returned at around 4 p.m., his car was gone. There was no broken glass in the parking spot and police said that it was not in the tow log. 

Crook Racks Up Over $1K on Woman’s Credit Card

A crook stole a woman’s wallet and made over $1,000 in fraudulent charges on Sept. 28.

The 39-year-old victim told police that she realized her wallet was missing while she was shopping at Area Kids on Fifth Avenue, between Bergen and Dean streets, at around 12 p.m. When she called her credit card company, she found that someone had made $1,140 in fraudulent charges. The thief also got away with $10, her driver’s license and her library card. 

Thief Steals $6 from Wallet 

A thief snatched $6 from a woman’s wallet while on Sixth Avenue on Sept. 30.

The 18-year-old victim told police that she left her purse in front of a building between Eighth and Ninth streets at around 9 p.m. When she returned to grab her purse 15 minutes later, she found that someone had looted it. The crook got away with $6 in cash, two debit cards and her school ID.
