Son Arrested for Choking Mother After Fight Over Cleaning Apartment

The argument quickly escalated and the 22-year-old son choked his mother with both hands.

Police arrested a 22-year-old man for strangling his mother inside their apartment on Third Avenue June 22.

The 46-year-old victim told police that she got into a verbal argument with her son about cleaning their apartment inside the Wyckoff Gardens Houses, between Warren and Baltic streets, at 8 a.m. The argument quickly escalated and the 22-year-old son choked his mother with both hands, causing redness and loss of breath. He also grabbed her right wrist, which left bruising. Police arrested the man for first-degree felony assault. 

Wad of Cash Snatched

A thief stole $1,550 from a New York City Sanitation worker’s locker inside a garage on Hamilton Avenue June 20.

The 43-year-old victim, who was a NYS employee, told police that he put his belongings and a big wad of cash inside his locker at the NYC Sanitation garage between 14th and 15th streets and secured it at 5:50 a.m. When he returned to get his cash at 10:20 a.m., he found that his locker was still locked, but his cash was missing. The victim said that his lock was easy to pick, but was not damaged. The crook got away with $1,550.
