Police Blotter: Robber Steals iPhone from Woman on Q Train

A quick-handed crook snatched a woman’s iPhone while riding on a Q train at Atlantic Avenue subway station on Jan. 27.

The 35-year-old victim told police that she was riding a southbound Q train at around 10:15 p.m. when a crook grabbed her white iPhone out of her hands and ran out of the train at the Atlantic Avenue station. She told police that she noticed the man on the train before the incident and described him as a black man in his 20s, standing about 5-foot-10, weighing approximately 170 lbs. with short black hair.

The Laptop Burglar 

A burglar ransacked a Prospect Place apartment for close to $1,000 in electronics on Feb. 1.  

The three victims, who live in the same apartment between Carlton and Vanderbilt avenues and are in their 20s, told police that they left their Prospect Place home at 9 a.m. and did not return until 9:10 p.m. Upon their arrival, they found that their apartment had been burglarized, with multiple items out of place and dresser drawers left open. The burglar stole an Apple laptop, a Sony laptop, and an external hard drive. 

Car Robbed of Designer Clothing 

A crook stole close to $3,000 in clothing from a car parked on Carlton Avenue on Feb. 1.

The 20-year-old victim, who is a New Jersey resident, told police that he parked his car between St. Marks Avenue and Prospect Place at 8 p.m. When he returned to his ride at 9:45 p.m., he found that someone had stolen all his clothing, which he bought recently for $2,695. The crook got away with a Ralph Lauren jacket, a Burberry duffel bag, Kindle e-reader, Jordan sneakers, a Gucci belt, two pairs of designer jeans, a hoodie and a beanie.
