Man Robbed at Knifepoint in Union Street Subway Station
Three robbers mugged a man at knifepoint for $100 cash and his cell phone in the Union Street subway station Feb. 21.
The 25-year-old victim told police that he was walking down the stairs to a southbound R train when he saw three men standing near the turnstiles at around 11:20 p.m. The first robber, a black man standing 5-foot-10, weighing about 150 lbs. with a black snow hat and jacket, asked him what time it was. When the victim pulled out his cell phone to check the time, the robber pulled out a knife and said, “Give me your phone, or I’ll cut you.”
The second crook, about 24 years old, a black man standing 5-foot-10, 150 lbs., and wearing blue jeans, went through his left pocket and removed $100. The third crook, a black man around 20, standing 5-foot-10, and weighing around 160 lbs., and wearing a blue jacket and black jeans, took the victim’s cell phone and then they all ran out of the subway to Union Street and Third Avenue. The victim was not injured.
