Police Blotter: iPhone Snatch on Fourth Ave.

iPhone Snatch

A quick-handed crook snatched a woman’s iPhone out of her hands while standing on the corner of Butler Street and Fourth Avenue on April 24.  

The 40-year-old victim told police that she was talking on her iPhone 5 while standing on the northeast corner of Butler Street and Fourth Avenue at around 7:30 p.m. Suddenly, a crook ran up and snatched her cellphone out of her hands and ran northbound on Gregory Place. The victim described the crook as an 18-year-old black man, standing 5-foot-10 with an Afro and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants. The crook also got away with her iPhone’s red case with white polka dots. The victim was unable to track iPhone with “Find My iPhone” app for the crook turned off the cellphone. 

Car Be Gone  

A thief boosted a car from its parking spot on Eighth Avenue sometime between April 19 to April 20.  

The 58-year-old victim told police that she parked her white Kia Optima between Fifth and Sixth streets on April 19 at around 7:20 p.m. and locked all doors and windows. When she returned the next day at 10 a.m., her car was gone. No broken glass on scene and police said that it was not towed.
