The 59-year-old victim and owner of Ami’s Food & Deli Corp on Fourth Avenue, between Union and President streets, told police that when he arrived to his store the next day, April 3, at around 9:30 a.m. the store was closed and locked up, but $10,000 in cash was missing. The victim told cops that the only person working the store on April 2 was his employee, a 38-year-old man from Pakistan described as standing 5-foot-5, weighing 140 lbs. with black short hair, dark skin and a thick accent. The employee closed the shop by himself that night between 10:30 and 11:30 p.m. After the owner realized that $10,000 was missing from his shop, he went to his employee’s apartment, but he was not home.

A violent wanna-be mugger pummeled a man in the face on Park Place and attempted to rob him, but fled the scene without stealing anything on April 2.

The 29-year-old victim told police that he was walking home from the Bergen Street subway station when at around 11 p.m., near the intersection of Seventh and Flatbush avenues, a black man standing about 5-foot-1 and weighing 150 lbs. ran up and punched him in the face with a closed fist multiple times. The crook then stated, “You got five seconds to give me all you got or I’m going to kill you!” However, the victim did not have his cell phone or wallet on him and replied, “I don’t have anything.” Then the attacker, who was wearing a blue baseball hat, blue jeans, a multi-colored waist-length jacket and white sneakers, fled the scene without taking anything from the victim.
