Two crooks walked into an eyeglasses store on Seventh Avenue and stole thousands of dollars worth of sunglasses on May 17.
The owner of Pearl Vision told police that a man and a woman walked into the shop, on the corner of Union Street, at around 12:30 p.m. and snatched a pair of Fendi sunglasses, two pairs by Burberry, one pair of Coach and two pairs of Raybans and ran off.
A thief snatched a woman’s iPhone from her hands while she was walking on Seventh Avenue on May 19.
The 20-year-old victim told police that she was walking northbound on Seventh Avenue approaching the intersection of Fourth Street at around 7 p.m. While she was texting and walking, a crook came up from behind and snatched her iPhone from her hands and then ran west on Fourth Street.
Swift Bag Grab
A swift thief snatched a man’s bag filled with a laptop, books and notebooks while at a Union Street bar on May 19.
The 28-year-old victim told police that he was sitting on a bench inside Union Hall near Fifth Avenue at about 3 a.m. with his messenger bag next to him. He said he turned the other way for five minutes, but that was enough time for the crook to snatch his bag and make off with an Apple laptop, notebooks and books.
Gym Rat II
A crook broke into a man’s locker at the Ninth Street YMCA, stole his credit cards and ran up a bill of a couple hundred dollars on May 20.
The 39-year-old victim told police that he was at the YMCA, between Fifth and Sixth avenues, at around 1 p.m. when he locked his possessions in his locker and went to work out. When he returned to his locker at around 4 p.m., he found that the lock was broken and he was missing three credit cards. Later, he was notified that someone used his card at two different stores for a total of $500.
