Crook Steals from an Emergency Room Patient

A crook snatched a woman’s purse while she was in the emergency room at New York Methodist Hospital on Seventh Avenue on Sept. 22.

The 53-year-old woman told police that she went to the ER, on Sixth Street, at around 10:30 a.m. for a test. But, the victim left her purse in the waiting room while she was having the test taken. When she returned a little while later, her purse was gone. The crook got away with her cell phone, driver’s license, social security card, medical and pharmacy insurance cards and her debit card.

Car Lifted from Ninth Street

A thief boosted an SUV from its parking spot on Ninth Street some time between Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.

The 29-year-old victim told police that she parked her gray Range Rover on Ninth Street, between Fourth and Fifth avenues, at around 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 30. When she returned to get her ride the next day at around 7 a.m., it was gone.

iPhone Picked from Pocket

A quick-handed pickpocket stole a woman’s iPhone while she was riding the Q train near the Seventh Avenue station on Sept. 30.

The 25-year-old victim told police that she was riding the Q train and got off at the Seventh Avenue subway station on Flatbush Avenue at around 7:25 p.m. when she realized her iPhone was no longer in the rear left pocket of her jeans. She said that she felt a few people push up against her while she was riding the train a few minutes earlier. But, she didn’t realize it was gone until she got off the train and was walking on the mezzanine in the Seventh Avenue station.

Car Stolen from Third Street

A crook boosted an SUV from its parking spot on Third Street some time between Oct. 1 and 3.

The 35-year-old victim told police that she came home from work and parked her Acura MDX on Third Street, between Eighth Avenue and Prospect Park West, at around 10:35 p.m. When she returned to get her gray car on Oct. 3, at around 6:15 a.m., it was gone. There was no broken glass in the spot, and police said that it was not towed.

iPhone Snatch on Seventh Avenue

A quick-handed crook snatched an iPhone out of a woman’s hand while she was walking along Seventh Avenue on Oct. 2.

The 24-year-old victim told police that she was walking on Seventh Avenue at around 10:35 p.m. When she reached the corner of Garfield Place ten minutes later, a crook ran up and snatched her iPhone out of her hands and ran westbound on Garfield. The victim could not describe the assailant. 

Crook Steals Expensive Bikes from Apartment Building

A thief stole two high-end bicycles, totaling close to $4,000, from a St. Marks Avenue apartment building on Oct. 2.

The 30-year-old victim told police that he locked his bikes, both by the company Pake and valued at around $1,700 each, with a U-lock in the building’s common area just off Flatbush Avenue at around 9:30 p.m. When he went to grab them, one has a black frame and the other has a green sparkle one, at around 11:30 p.m. they were gone. The crook also got away with two helmets and front and rear bike lights for a grand total of $3,720.
