Police Blotter: Crook Snatches iPad from Woman on Q Train at 7th Ave Subway

Reports from the NYPD’s 78th Precinct.

The following information was supplied by the 78th Precinct of the NYPD. It does not indicate a conviction.

iPad Swipe

A quick-handed thief snatched a woman’s iPad from her hands while on the Q train at the Seventh Avenue subway station on March 15.

The 24-year-old victim told police that she was on a northbound Q train holding her iPad in her hands while sitting down at around 9:03 p.m. When the train pulled into the Seventh Avenue subway station on Flatbush Avenue, a thief snatched the iPad out of her hands and fled from the train car. The victim was not able to describe the crook, except that he was wearing a black jacket.

Car Boosted on PPW

A car thief took advantage of the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Park Slope and boosted a car from its parking spot on Prospect Park West sometime between March 16 and 17.

The 40-year-old victim told police that he parked his Subaru Forester between Ninth and 10th streets at around 6 p.m. on March 16. When he returned to get his car the next day at around 9 a.m., it was gone. Police said that it was not towed and checked the car relocation sites on 13th and Seventh streets from the parade route, but it was not there either.
