Police Blotter: Cops Arrest Man for Stealing 15 Xbox Games and 6 Wii Controllers from Best Buy

Police arrested a 25-year-old man for stealing 15 video games and six gaming remote controls from an electronics store in the Atlantic Center Mall on March 13.

A 23-year-old employee of Best Buy on Atlantic Avenue told police that he saw the crook, a 25-year-old man, walking out of the store after he stole 15 Xbox video games and six Wii remote controls at around 4:20 p.m. Police arrested the shoplifter, who tried to get away with the electronics, worth a total of $1,219, shortly after the heist.

Purse Snatch

A quick-handed thief stole a woman’s purse while she was shopping at a department store in the Atlantic Center Mall on March 6.

The 35-year-old victim told police that she was shopping at Target on Flatbush Avenue when she placed her bag, which had her pocketbook inside, inside a shopping cart and left it unattended at around 8:30 p.m. to look at something. When she returned five minutes later, her bag was missing from her cart. The crook got away with her Galaxy smartphone, MetroCard, debit card, ID, and pocketbook. 

Another Purse Snatch

A thief stole a woman’s purse while she was shopping at a department store in the Atlantic Center Mall on March 16.

The 25-year-old victim told police that she was shopping at Target when she placed her bag inside her shopping cart at around 3:55 p.m. and walked away for a few minutes. Upon returning to her cart, she realized her purse was gone. The crook got away with her wallet, MetroCard, two debit cards, two Amex gift cards, ID and $30 cash. On Target’s surveillance video it shows a woman, about 24 years old, standing about 5-foot-7 and weighing around 135 lbs., remove the victim’s bag from the cart and walk into the fitting room. The crook, who was wearing a gray jacket and red sneakers, is then seen leaving the fitting room, drop the victim’s purse on the ground and exit Target.
