Police Blotter: Burglar Steals Two Laptops from Eighth Ave Apartment

A burglar stole two laptops from an Eighth Avenue on March 22.

The 25-year-old victim told police that she left her home, between Eighth and Ninth streets, at around 9:45 a.m. to go to work. When she returned at around 10 p.m., he found her apartment had been burglarized. There was a footprint on the desk next to her back window, which was unlocked. No other entry points. The crook got away with two Apple laptops.

A crook stole a woman’s iPhone, $400 and bag from the back of a taxi before she was dropped off on Fifth Avenue on March 24.

The 30-year-old victim told police that she was in a cab and got dropped off between Bergen Street and St. Marks Place at around 8 p.m. But, she said that she had her stuff with her for the 15-minute car ride, except when she got out the belongings were gone. The crook got away with the victim’s iPhone, debit card, MetroCard, clutch designer bag, and $400 in cash.
