Back Window Burglary
A crook broke in to a Fourth Avenue apartment through the back window and stole almost $3,000 in electronics on Oct. 20.
The 24-year-old victim told police that he and his roommate were out of the apartment between Warren and Baltic streets from 2 p.m. to 9:10 p.m. When he got home he found that his front door was locked with the bolt lock, which they do not have a key for. After he climbed through the fire escape window, he found that the crook stole his roommate’s MacBook Pro, a $1,000 Nikon camera and an iPod Nano.
Thief Steals $45 from Gym Locker
A thief stole $45 cash and two credit cards from a locker in the Ninth Street YMCA on Oct. 19.
The 57-year-old victim told police that he put his belongings in a locker at the YMCA, between Fifth and Sixth avenues, at around 10:40 a.m. and locked it up. When he returned to his locker at around 11:30 a.m., he found that someone had broken into it and stole two credit cards and $45 in cash.
Crook Steals Wallet from a Steakhouse Diner
A quick-handed crook stole $200 in cash from a woman while she was dining at a Second Street restaurant on Oct. 18.
The 40-year-old victim told police that she was eating at Benchmark, between Fifth and Fourth avenues, at around 9:30 p.m. But when she went to get her wallet, it was gone. The crook got away with $200 in cash, her identification, a check for $100, a debit card and three credit cards.
Thief Steals Golf Clubs from Seventh St. Apartment
A thief snatched an entire set of golf clubs from an apartment hallway on Seventh Street on Oct. 16.
The 38-year-old victim told police that he took his golf bag out of his car and put it in the hallway of his apartment, between Fourth and Fifth avenues, at around 8:30 a.m. He went into his home for about 15 minutes, but when he went out to retrieve his clubs, they were gone. The victim told police that the thief got away with his entire set, worth $1,889.
