Police Blotter: A Thief Snatched a Woman’s Wallet While on the F train

Subway Snatch

A sneaky subway thief snatched a woman’s wallet while she was riding an F train to Seventh Avenue subway station on April 25.

The 22-year-old victim told police that she started her trip from Union Square in Manhattan on an R train, but transferred to the F at Jay Street MetroTech. When she pulled into Seventh Avenue station she realized her wallet was missing from her purse.

The crook then charged $104 on her debit card to buy a MetroCard, which was in her wallet.

Car Be Gone

A carjacker stole a man’s ride from its parking spot on Sixth Avenue on April 24.

The 35-year-old victim told police that he parked his black Acura between Berkeley Place and Union Street at around 7 p.m. on April 23. When he went to hop in his car the next day at around 9:30 a.m., he realized it was gone.

Working Wallet

A quick-handed thief swiped a woman’s wallet at a doctor’s office on Prospect Park West on April 19.

The 54-year-old victim told police that she went to work at a doctor's office with her pursue at around 11 a.m. But, by the time she left at 6:30 p.m., someone stole her wallet with a checkbook out of her purse, along with a debit card and two credit cards inside. The crook charged $3,000 to her account.

Gold Heist

A thief stole jewelry from a woman’s apartment on Prospect Park West sometime between Thanksgiving of 2011 and April 19.

The 65-year-old victim told police that she put her gold necklace, worth $5,000, in a safe place after Thanksgiving. But since then she has had multiple contractors in her apartment near President Street to do construction. She realized April 19, that her gold was gone.
