Pickpocket Strikes on Saint Marks Place and Fourth Avenue: Police Blotter

A man was walking with his girlfriend when someone bumped into him on his right side and kept walking, getting away with the man's wallet.

Crooks Nab Equipment Worth Thousands From DeGraw Street Office

Burglars broke into a DeGraw Street office and took more than $15,000 worth of property, including camera equipment and office items, between 3 p.m. on July 28 and and 5 a.m. on July 29.

The victim told police he left the office at 3 p.m. and when he returned at 5 a.m. the next day, the door was forced open and cameras, camera equipment, lighting equipment, a laptop, a drill set and other items were gone. Property missing was valued at $15,450. There were no working cameras on the scene. 

Camera and Lens Swiped From Prospect Place Apartment 

A 46-year-old man told police he left his Prospect Place apartment at 9 a.m. on July 9 and returned at 5 p.m., when he discovered his Olympus OMB and Olympus lens were taken. The camera and lens, worth $1,498, were left on the top of the man's desk, he told police. He also said he had given workers permission to be in his apartment while he was gone, and he believes one of them could be responsible for the theft. 

Pickpocket Snatches Man's Wallet 

A quick-acting crook nabbed a 19-year-old man's wallet on the corner of Saint Marks Place and Fourth Avenue one August night. 

The victim told police he was walking with his girlfriend between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Aug. 3 when a man bumped into him on his right side and kept walking. When the victim reached his destination, he realized he was missing his wallet, which included his Chase debit card, college ID card, health insurance card and his New York State permit. He was also alerted by Chase Bank that an unauthorized transaction made on his card.
