NYPD Asking Public to Help Find Alleged Cell Phone Thief

Police are looking for a man who allegedly stole another man’s cell phone out of his hands at the Fourth Ave.-Ninth St. subway station last week.

According to the NYPD’s 78th Precinct, a thief allegedly snatched a cell phone from a man while he was waiting on the platform for the train at Fourth Ave-Ninth Street subway station on Sept. 25.

The 46-year-old victim told police that he was sitting on a bench on the northbound platform waiting for the F train at around 2 p.m. He took out his Samsung Galaxy when the crook, who he described as a black man who was about 20 years old and 6-feet tall, allegedly snatched it out of his hand and fled in an unknown direction. 

Now, police are asking for the public's assistance in locating the suspect, a black male in his 20s, 6-foot with a medium build, wanted in connection with the grand larceny.
