Man in Critical Condition After Being Struck by Car on 4th Ave

A car hit a 70-year-old man while crossing the thoroughfare on Friday afternoon.

A car hit a pedestrian while crossing Fourth Avenue, leaving the victim seriously injured on Friday, Feb. 22, FDNY officials said.

According to an FDNY spokesman, a 70-year-old man was crossing the avenue at Ninth Street when a car struck him at around 1:08 p.m.

The pedestrian is in critical condition and the EMS transported him to Lutheran Medical Center.

This is indeed sad and one of too many. But something is being done; DOT is working on it right now. Get involved! Join the Park Slope Civic Council and FoFA - it's committee that works tirelessly to improve 4 Avenue.

This sounds like a job for the 7 On Your Side, or NY1 who may be able to reach NYCDOT and Higher Ranking officials at the 78th PCT to respond to your complaint and do something.
