Man, 43, Fatally Shot in Gowanus

Incident occurred Saturday morning on Butler Street.

A man was shot in the head on Butler Street in Gowanus on Saturday, according to the New York Police Department. 

The victim, described as a 43-year-old black male, was found dead on a mostly commercial block between 3rd and 4th avenues at 7:15 a.m., police said.

According to police, a 33-year-old Hispanic male was transported from the scene "by private means" to Methodist Hospital in Park Slope. Cops said the man was in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the torso.

No word yet on whether he was responsible for Saturday's fatal shooting.

An investigation is ongoing.
