Also: motorcycle snatched from Garfield Place parking spot.

The following information was supplied by the NYPD’s 78th Precinct. It does not indicate a conviction.

Rental Truck's Ignition Ripped from Vehicle

A 33-year-old man discovered an unpleasant surprise one Sunday afternoon when he went to move his rental truck and discovered it was missing a key part of the operation: its ignition.

The man told police he parked the Budget rental truck at 9:30 p.m. on July 27 on Second Avenue between 10th and 9th streets. When he returned to the truck at 2 p.m. the next day, he saw the passenger side window was broken and the ignition of the truck was removed. There were no cameras in the nearby area.

Motorcycle Swiped from Garfield Place Parking Spot

When a 33-year-old man parked his grey 2005 Yamaha Vino motorcycle overnight in front of a Garfield Place home, he expected to find the bike there in the morning. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

The man told police he parked the bike, valued at $2,000, at 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 2 in front of  45 Garfield Place. When he returned to the spot at 10 a.m. the next day, the bike was gone. Police checked with the Brooklyn Navy Yard's tow log and tow pound, and the bike was not there.
